Frustration-induced quantum criticality in Ni-doped CePdAl as revealed by the μ SR technique
(2024)Physical Review ResearchIn CePdAl, the 4f moments of cerium arrange to form a geometrically frustrated kagome lattice. Due to frustration, in addition to Kondo and Ruderman-Kittel-Kasuya-Yosida interactions, this metallic system shows a long-range magnetic order (LRO) with a TN of only 2.7 K. Upon Ni doping at the Pd sites, TN is further suppressed, to reach zero at a critical concentration xc≈0.15. Here, by using muon-spin relaxation and rotation (μSR), we ...Journal Article -
Fault reactivation linked to rapid ice-mass removal from the Southern Patagonian Icefield (48–52°S)
(2024)TectonophysicsThe Southern Patagonian Icefield (SPI) lies above an area of slow convergence between Antarctic and South-America plates, where limited seismicity is recorded by global and regional seismic networks. To understand the seismic behavior of this zone, we analyze two years of continuous broad-band data recorded by 27 seismometers, deployed around the SPI. Substantial ice loss coupled with the unusually low viscosity of the underlying mantle ...Review Article -
Accelerating rehabilitation through AR/VR solutions
(2024)Smart VR/AR/MR Systems for ProfessionalsRehabilitation plays a crucial role in restoring or optimizing physical, mental, and social functions compromised by illness, injury, trauma, or aging. With an aging population, an increase in chronic diseases, and a shortage of rehabilitation professionals, the demand for rehabilitation services is growing. Furthermore, the COVID-19 pandemic has heightened the need for rehabilitation due to disabilities caused by the disease. This chapter ...Book Chapter
