Publishing Documents


All members of the ETH Zurich (employees, doctoral candidates, master and graduate students) are entitled to publish documents relevant to research and teaching in the ETH E-Collection. To submit a document, you must register with your nethz login.

If you wrote your paper at the ETH Zurich but no longer have a nethz password:
Please send the document as an attachment to . Please note that in addition to the actual document we also require the following details:

  • Document title
  • For postprints: journal title
  • Author(s)
  • Former institutional affiliation

The ETH E-Collection accepts doctoral theses, journal articles (preprints, postprints), reports, educational materials, conference proceedings, journals and annuals etc. PDF is the preferred format for the documents. Advantages of Publishing Documents in the ETH E-Collection

Publishing documents via the ETH E-Collection offers authors of the ETH Zurich many advantages:

  • Worldwide access to the publications using the internet.
  • Publications are catalogued by specialist staff at the ETH-Bibliothek according to international standards.
  • Longtime archiving of the publication is warranted.
  • Each publication receives a DOI (digital object identifier). This persistent identifier guarantees the lasting and clear identification of and addressing for the object.
  • Documents can be found using many different search engines (e.g. Google).
  • Metadata are made available using the OAI protocol for metadata harvesting (OAI-PMH).
  • References in the institutional bibliography ETH E-Citations are normally linked with the full text in the ETH E-Collection.
